Virginia S. Hodges, 79, of Corbin passed away Monday, December 18, 2017.
Born February 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late James Madison Simpson and Ottie Simpson.
A pray warrior, she attended several churches over the years and enjoyed singing and praying for people. She also had a love for humming birds and song birds and a special affection for cats.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Simpson; a sister, Anne Inman; and a niece, Norma Jean Adkins.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Charles C. Hodges, Jr.; two brothers: Jack Simpson and wife Marie and Robert Simpson and wife Flora; one sister: Opal Miracle; niece, Sandy Keane and husband Wayne; nephew, James Simpson; nephew, David Simpson and wife Linda; and niece, Sherry Simpson. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December, 21, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bobby Lawson officiating.
Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.
