Volunteers needed to wrap presents for Empty Stocking Event

Date:

The Corbin Rotary Club is inviting the community to participate in a wrapping party to prepare the gifts to be handed out at the annual Empty Stocking Event.

Volunteers are asked to come to The Corbin Center beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday

to help wrap gifts for 460 children from Knox, Laurel and Whitley counties.

Volunteers may come and go as they please, as any help is welcome and appreciated, Rotary Club officials noted.

Volunteers are asked to bring two rolls of wrapping paper along with scissors and tape.

The Empty Stocking Fund collects donations throughout the year to purchase a coat, shoes, socks and a present for each child.

Organizers work in conjunction with the family resource centers at area schools, along with Corbin United Effort, to select the children for the program.

The party for the children will be held Friday at The Corbin Center.
