Want a chance to win $100 plus gift basket? Take online Corbin Tourism survey

Date:

Attention Corbin residents. Want the chance to win a gift basket worth well over $100 containing Corbin swag, business promotional items, gift certificates and coupons to local establishments? If you take part in an online survey for the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission, then you will have the opportunity to do so.

Corbin Tourism is the destination marketing organization for Corbin that works to stimulate the local economy and engage the community through marketing strategies designed to attract visitors, and it is seeking invaluable input on the perception of tourism by Corbin residents through a new Resident Sentiment Survey.

This 15-minute online survey launched Oct. 21, and will stay open for engagement thru Nov. 4, unless a sample goal is reached before the scheduled end date.

Corbin Tourism has partnered with Longwoods International, a destination tourism market research partner to develop, program and launch the survey and to provide full reporting with benchmark comparisons.

Longwoods International recently conducted a national study and has made available national and regional benchmarks for many of the survey questions which have been taken directly from the national study. The study’s responses will guide future tourism development to benefit the Corbin community and improve the quality of life for local residents.

Participation in this survey is confidential. All Corbin residents age 18 and up are encouraged to participate, sharing their opinions and perspectives on various aspects of tourism development.

At the end of the survey, participants have the option to enter the drawing for the gift basket by submitting an email address. Longwoods International will draw and provide Corbin Tourism with one email address as the winner of the basket.

“We are collecting all the participation that we can get,” said Corbin Tourism Executive Director Nancy Conley told the Corbin City Commission during its monthly meeting Monday. She is urging local residents to take part in the survey.

Conley also informed the commission Monday that seven travel writers planned to visit Corbin this week before going onto Cumberland Falls Resort Park to spend the night.

In addition, during Monday’s meeting, Parks and Recreation Department Director and Downtown Manager Jacob Roan announced that the Witches Walk, which is a Halloween themed pub crawl, would be taking place Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m., and that eight restaurants and businesses have agreed to participate.

There will be a contest for best witch and specials at downtown establishments for participants.

He added laughingly that Tomahawks plans to have NFL games on for the men, who are waiting on their witches.

“The men are more than welcome to walk around and try out the drinks and food as well during the Witches Walk,” he said.
