W’burg man wins $50,000 on scratch-off ticket

Date:

Williamsburg’s Vincent Tomasino was shocked after he scratched off a Kentucky Lottery ticket winning $50,000.

Tomasino stopped at the Pilot Travel Center on Ky. 92 last week and purchased three 500X Scratch-off tickets. He decided before leaving the store to buy one more ticket.

“Something told me to buy another one,” he said.

Tomasino took the ticket home and while scratching it off uncovered a $200 win in the first spot.

“I kept scratching and saw another $200 win. As I continued to scratch, I kept seeing more wins. I thought, ‘wait a minute, I’ve got something going on here,’” he said.

He ended up winning something on every spot on the ticket.

Tomasino told lottery officials he eventually had to use a calculator to add up his winnings of $50,000.

“I could not believe it,” he said. “This is life changing money.”

After taxes, Tomasino received a check for $35,750.

He told officials he recently bought a new Harley Davidson trike so it will be the first thing he pays off.

Pilot Travel Center will receive $500 for selling the winning ticket.
