Welcome Internet wanderers

Date:

If you’ve happened upon this website, what you are viewing is a work in progress.

In the web development Internet lingo, thenewsjournal.net/ is not really "live" yet, though it really is. Everyone can see it, but it is not what we consider complete. More accurately, it is in the birthing process.

It has been a long and painful delivery. What you see today is NOT a final product. We know there are issues. Things will be constantly refined to provide News Journal readers with the finest media website in southeastern Kentucky, bar none!

The staff at the newspaper is actually very excited about what the Internet offers. For those that want the entire News Journal each week, you can subscribe to our new electronic edition. It’s exactly like what you would get if you bought a newspaper out of the rack, except you can view it right on your computer screen.

We plan to incorporate video clips into many of our top stories. This site will also have breaking news, and extra content like certain viewable government documents, photo galleries, active message board forums and even exclusive stories and opinion columns that you can only see on thenewsjournal.net/.

These are exciting times for our newspaper. The future is a mesh of the tried and true method of delivering the news fused with the future that technology offers.

We are glad you are along for the ride.
