West Knox Fire Department selling chances to win UK vs. Kansas tickets

Date:

The West Knox Fire Department is holding it’s annual UK ticket fundraiser.

Firefighters will be selling chances to win two tickets to UK’s game against fellow college basketball powerhouse University of Kansas Jayhawks on January 30.

West Knox Fire Chief Daryl Baker said the tickets, which were donated by Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers R-Manchester, are six rows off of the floor.

The tickets are $5 each and will be sold through January 16.

The drawing will be held that night at the department’s Station One off of Ky. 1232 in Gray.

In addition to the tickets, the winner will receive $300 in cash to cover the cost of the trip to Lexington.

Tickets are available from any West Knox firefighter, or by calling 528-1700.

“We printed 2,000 but we will probably sell in the neighborhood of 1,000,” Baker said. That is what we normally sell.

This marks the seventh year the fire department has held this fundraiser.

All of the proceeds go into the department’s general fund to help cover its $90,000 annual operating budget.
