West Knox firefighters save Lynn Acres home

Date:

Three local departments responded to a single-family residence fire on March 8 off Lynn Acres.

The road is located between US 25 and American Greeting Card Road.

West Knox Assistant Chief Joshua Lee said upon arrival there was a heavy fire load, which means flames were showing.

The fire was contained to a portion of the residence, but it took crews approximately three hours to completely extinguish.

Residents were able to enter a portion of the home once the fire was extinguished, but the entire home experienced at least some degree of smoke and water damage, said Lee.

West Knox Fire and Rescue, Corbin Fire Department and Keavy Fire Department were called to the scene. Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County also responded.
