The Kentucky Coal & Mineral County Coalition, which is headquartered in Frankfort, recently held its annual election of officers and directors at the November 2018 quarterly board meeting, and unanimously elected Whitley County Judge-Executive Pat White Jr. to the board of directors.
“Judge White brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board of Directors” said outgoing Chairman and Hopkins County Judge-Executive Donnie Carroll. “We are thrilled that he is willing to serve and share his time and talents to this worthy endeavor.”
The Kentucky Coal & Mineral County Coalition is non-profit organization that provides a forum for respective counties where coal and minerals are extracted. The Coalition’s mission is aimed at addressing issues and opportunities in those regions of Kentucky, which are affected economically, socially and environmentally.
The Coalition supports the growth of energy and mineral industries; serves as a conduit between the local communities, state and businesses; and tirelessly promotes economic development in the member counties.
“We have a Coalition made up of public servants” said JC Young, the Coalition Executive Director. “The Coalition covers a wide variety of issues, works hand in hand with the industry, legislators, and the executive branch, and its takes people with vision to lead. We are truthfully honored to have such advocates for counties serving in these roles.”
White will serve through the 2019 calendar year.
“I’m honored to serve as Whitley County Judge Executive and I am equally honored to be elected by my peers and serve our coal and mineral counties” White said.
The Kentucky Coal & Mineral County Coalition has been serving as an advocate and resource for coal and mineral counties since 1981.
