Whitley County family’s home destroyed by fire Monday

A house fire in the Rockholds community of Whitley County Monday morning resulted in the structure being a total loss.

The house was located on Slusher Cemetery Road, just off of Tidal Wave Road, about two miles from KY 26. Although the cause of the blaze has still not been determined, Dwayne Yates of the Rockholds Volunteer Fire Department said that flames were coming out of the top of the roof by the time the first responders arrived.
