As part of its duties, the Whitley County Health Department conducts routine public health inspections of various entities, including restaurants, stores, schools, mobile home parks, swimming pools, etc.

Food Establishment
• Little Mart, 4039 N HWY 25, Williamsburg – food service: 89 retail: 97. Sept. 18 regular inspection. Comments: food service – missing food manager certification and food handler certification; missing blood and body fluid cleaning kit; personal item placed on food prep areas “clean surface”; bottom shelf of chicken warming station temped (internally) at 110 degrees (must be 135 degrees or warmer); not using date marking for TCS foods being held over. Retail – missing blood and body fluid clean up kit; structure of area around walk-in cooler/freezer in poor condition. Follow-up inspection required.
• Little Mart, 4039 N HWY 25, Williamsburg – food service: 99 retail: 99. Sept. 25 follow-up inspection. Comments: food service – missing food manager certification and food service workers missing food handler certifications. Retail – structure of area around walk-in cooler/freezer in poor condition.
• Dollar General #4535, 1512 18th St., Corbin – 97. Sept. 22 regular inspection. Comments: missing thermometers in coolers; woman’s restroom is out of service due to leaking toilet and sink coming off the wall; ceiling tiles show signs of roof leak.
• Friendly Mart, 40 HWY 6, Woodbine – food service: 98 retail: 99. Sept. 22 regular inspection. Comments: food service – foods not covered to protect from contamination. Retail – coffee stir straws not protected from contamination.
• Laurel Lake Camp Store, 80 Rob Blair HWY, Corbin – food service: 98 retail: 100. Sept. 22 regular inspection. Comments: hand wash sink in kitchen being used to store stuff; no hand drying towels available at hand wash sink; missing quat test strips for quat sanitizer.
• Harts Bee Creek Market, 2635 Bee Creek Rd., Corbin – 98. Sept. 25 regular inspection. Comments: live and dead roaches observed. Follow-up inspection required.
• Harts Bee Creek Market, 2635 Bee Creek Rd., Corbin – 99. Oct. 2 follow-up inspection. Comments: floor in poor condition. Roaches were observed in the previous inspection but problem was corrected.
• Fast Trax, 12125 US 25W, Williamsburg – 98. Sept. 30 regular inspection. Comments: single use coffee stir straws not protected from contamination; water leaking onto floor by mop sink.
• Stop + Save, 443 N HWY 25W, Williamsburg – food service: 98 retail: 100. Sept. 30 regular inspection. Comments: handwash sink not supplied with drying towels; soiled wiping cloths not stored in sanitizer between uses.
