As part of its duties, the Whitley County Health Department conducts routine public health inspections of various entities, including restaurants, stores, schools, mobile home parks, swimming pools, etc.
Some of the most recent inspections include:
Food Establishment
• Hardee’s Red Burrito, 730 S 10th St., Williamsburg – 95. July 29 regular inspection. Comments: milk cooler operating with internal food temperature at 47 degrees; hand-wash sink by drive-thru not properly mounted to the wall and leaking water onto the floor; grout missing on floor in ware washing area. Follow-up inspection required.
• Highland Park Drive-in, 496 HWY 25N, Williamsburg – 87. July 30 regular inspection. Comments: missing food manager certification and employees missing their food handling certification; employee observed eating food from the line; employee observed donning gloves directly after eating, using their phone, and between glove changes without washing hands first; food products placed directly under hand drying towels beside hand-wash sink; sandwich cooler internally temped food at 57 degrees on top and internally temped food at 46 degrees on bottom; employees observed in kitchen not wearing hair coverings; no cold water at hand-wash sink on arrival; hand wash sink is leaking. Follow-up inspection required.
• Highland Park Drive-in, 496 HWY 25N, Williamsburg – 95. Aug. 11 follow-up inspection. Comments: missing food manager certification and food handling certification; food products were not protected from drips and splash; employees observed in kitchen not wearing hair coverings; no cold water and leaking faucet at hand-wash sink.
