Whitley County outdoor burning ban lifted

Date:

Whitley County Judge-Executive Pat White Jr. signed an executive order Tuesday morning rescinding the countywide burning ban that he put into place eight days earlier.

State and federal bands are still enforceable the new order notes.

White originally put the order into effect at 10 a.m. on Oct. 24 due to weather conditions and the “extreme danger of forest fires.”

Williamsburg officials announced early Wednesday afternoon that the outdoor burning ban in the city had been lifted.
