With profound respect and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of William Teddy Chambers. Born on June 27, 1942, in Williamsburg, KY, William departed this life on May 29, 2025 being 82 years of age.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, well known for his humble nature and devotion to his family. His life was a demonstration of unwavering commitment and loyalty to those he loved, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
William served in the US Air Force during the Bay of Pigs where he was stationed in Florida. He was honored to serve his country and held his time in the military in high regard. Upon leaving the service, he pursued a career in the US Post Office in his hometown of Williamsburg, eventually retiring after over 30 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, William fostered a deep passion for reading and studying military history, and he found peace in the art of painting.
William is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Jessie Chambers of Williamsburg, KY; his son, Steve Lee Chambers of Williamsburg, KY; grandson, William Dravin Chambers of Williamsburg, KY; and his siblings, Betty Kitchen (Chester) of Louisville, KY, and Donnie Chambers of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Chambers; mother, Minnie (Lovitte) Chambers; and his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Chambers.
Funeral service was Tuesday, June 3, with Dr. Donnie Bruce Patrick officiating at Croley Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service, a burial service was held at Croley Addition Highland Park Cemetery.
Military honors was conducted by the American Legion Post 88 of Corbin, KY. at the cemetery.
