A Williamsburg man is facing a burglary charge after allegedly breaking into an outbuilding two days before Christmas.
About 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Third-District Constable Dorman Patrick Jr. and Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Hensley responded to a reported burglary at 476 Watts Creek Road.
A woman called 911 reporting that she had observed a man break into her outbuilding stealing some items. The woman also reported that the man had left the scene but had returned some of the items, Patrick wrote in a release.
When police arrived, they made contact with Rocky Henson, 41, who was located next door at his residence.
Police discovered that Henson had an active warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody, the release stated.
The woman identified Henson as the person, who had allegedly broken into her building, and several household items and miscellaneous items were located in the suspect’s yard at the scene, Patrick wrote.
During the process of the burglary, several items inside the outbuilding were damaged.
Henson was arrested without incident and charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
He was also served with a bench warrant for failure to appear.
He was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center where he remains incarcerated.
