Woman cited by police for letting children wander down road

Date:

Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies cited a Williamsburg woman for wanton endangerment Saturday morning after two of her small children were found wandering down a road.

Deputy Alan Onkst cited Jennifer Johns, 24, of 81 Wagon Wheel Lane, for two counts of second-degree wanton endangerment.

The incident happened about 10:10 a.m. about six miles south of Williamsburg.

Johns allegedly allowed her two children, who are ages two and four, to wander down the road on Wolfe Creek, according to her arrest citation.

After the children were discovered, police and social services were called.

Sheriff Lawrence Hodge and Deputy Johnny Miller assisted with the investigation.
