Tyner man indicted

Date:

The Laurel County Grand Jury issued its monthly report Friday and indicted a Tyner man for allegedly fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle.

The grand jury indicted Korey James Johnson, 37, charging him with second-degree fleeing or evading police, failure to have license in possession, all-terrain vehicle violation, and first-degree persistent felony offender.

On Sept. 12, Johnson allegedly disobeyed a Kentucky State Police trooper’s directive to stop his vehicle in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials.

He also had two prior felony convictions in connection with a 2019 Jackson County case for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and a 2020 Jackson County case for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, according to his indictment.
