Mildred Joyce Rains, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the age of 80 in her hometown of Williamsburg, KY.
Born on July 30, 1943, Mildred leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered by her family and those who knew her.
Mildred dedicated her life to raising a large and loving family, and her memory will be cherished by her sons, Ernest (Delvena), Roger (Paulette), Thomas (Lisa), Stanley, and Steven Rains; as well as her many grandchildren, including Angel (Dorien), Alelia, Wayne, Kelcey, Kendal, Dalton, Dakatah, Roger, Brandon, Kenny, Beth, Rebecca (Justin), Alexis, and Rose (John).
Mildred also leaves behind her special friends, Gertie Chandler, Dorian Huddleston, and Kathy Rains; 22 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members to mourn her passing.
Her gentle spirit and caring nature will live on through the generations she touched.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rains; her parents, Speed Hamblin and Rose Monhollen Hamblin; her son, Timothy Rains; and her grandson, Jace Rains.
Funeral services to honor Mildred’s life was held at the Croley Funeral Home on May 1, with the Reverend Randy Bargo officiating.
These services offered an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share memories, and pay their respects to a woman who brought so much joy to those around her.
In her passing, Mildred Joyce Rains leaves behind a grieving family and community. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared during her time on earth will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will forever be remembered with love and gratitude.
