Forest Service announces 2025 ‘fee free’ dates for Daniel Boone National Forest

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service has announced 2025 fee waiver dates for regional Daniel Boone National Forest recreation areas. These “fee-free” dates apply to the regional Daniel Boone National Forest recreation areas listed below.

 President’s Day Weekend: Feb. 15-17, 2025

Fees are waived at all Daniel Boone National Forest recreation areas, except concession-operated sites and reservable group-use areas.

Day-use sites – no recreation fee is required on Saturday, Feb. 15; Sunday, Feb. 16; or Monday, Feb. 17 at the following locations:

  • Laurel River Lake boat ramps
  • Bee Rock Boat Ramp – Laurel County
  • Natural Arch Scenic Area – McCreary County
  • Appletree Shooting Range – McCreary County
  • Whitman Branch Shooting Range – Whitley County

Campgrounds – camping fees are waived for Friday evening, Feb. 14; Saturday evening, Feb. 15; and Sunday, Feb. 16, at the following locations:

  • Bee Rock Campground – Laurel County
