Date:

Corbin Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a local man found outside a home Thursday morning.

Authorities were called to a home on 7th Street Thursday morning by a homeowner who said there was a young man passed out in a lawn chair, possibly deceased. Police and fire officials found the man at the home, near Penny Lane, seated in a lawn chair outside on the patio and called the coroner to the scene soon after arriving.

Corbin Police Capt. Rob Jones confirmed Thursday that the man was 32-year-old Chris Rogers. He said investigating officers found several prescription drugs on Rogers, including a generic version of Prozac, an empty bottle for another anti-depressant drug and Lorcet.

Jones said the case has been turned over to Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Neighbors said the weren’t sure if Rogers was staying at the home where he was found deceased.
