It’s always cool to meet a hero

Date:

It really is cool to get to meet one of your heroes. Thankfully, I have been lucky enough to meet two of mine in the past year.

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to meet former Cubs second baseman and now baseball Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg down at a Tennessee Smokies game in Kodak, Tenn. Then, Saturday night I was able to meet John Schneider (better known as Bo Duke, from the Dukes of Hazzard) at the Tri-County Cineplex in Corbin. For those that don’t know, he was there for two showings of his movie, Collier and Co.

What a thrill, but it brought back some memories as well. All of those big-wheel jumps that cuased bruises and blood, the sideways turn attempts that sent whatever it was you were riding into a barrell roll and how come when we were younger we never saw anyone dressed like Daisy Duke?

Oh well, either way it was a blast to his autograph and a picture taken with him. My thanks to Suzy Rasmus at Tri-County Cineplex. The event was great and I think it made a lot of people happy, including Bo, I mean Mr. Schneider.
