Knox deputies responding to drug complaint find heroin, pills

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Gray residence following a complaint of drug activity Sunday and arrested a woman after finding heroin, pills, and a glass smoking pipe.

Lisa Marie Garland, 30, of Gray is facing charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance prescription no in proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held in the Knox County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.

Deputy William Stewart, the department’s public affairs officer, stated that Deputy Bobby Jones went to the residence on Buddy Higgins Road, off of Cumberland Gap Pkwy.

In addition to the drug charges, Garland was served with an outstanding bench warrant out of Knox County for failure to pay fines on charges of first-degree criminal trespassing and contempt of court charges.

Garland is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Knox District Court.
