Trespassing complaint leads to drug bust for Williamsburg Police Saturday

What began as an investigation into a trespassing incident Saturday night on Rains Street in Williamsburg, ended with Williamsburg Police arresting a Watts Creek Road man on a charge of trafficking meth.

Joshua L. Young, 38, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and third-degree criminal trespassing after Officer Dorman Patrick, Jr., found him in possession of three plastic baggies containing suspected crystal meth, a digital scale, and several empty baggies used in drug trafficking.

Patrick was called to the scene on Rains Street near the intersection of Chad Street at approximately 9:50 p.m.

According to police, Patrick observed Young trespassing on private property, and initially charged him with the trespassing.

Upon searching Young, Patrick located the drugs.

Young was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
