I-75 bridges in Whitley County to undergo patching work Tuesday

Date:

The bridges carrying traffic on Interstate 75 in Whitley County will undergo temporary lane closures on Tuesday as crews do patch work.

Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the bridges scheduled for the work include at mile-point 2.5 just north of the state line and the bridges across the Cumberland River just south of Exit 15.

The work will begin at 9 a.m. on the southbound bridge at the mile-point 2.5.

It is expected to last approximately one hour.

Work will then shift to the Cumberland River bridges.

Workers will be on the northbound bridge from 11 a.m. until noon and the southbound bridge from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

While work is underway on a particular bridge, officials said the right-hand lane will be closed.

“Motorists should reduce speed and be alert in the work zones,” officials stated.
