Search warrant leads to drug arrest in Corbin

Date:

A search warrant served at a Corbin residence Thursday led to the recovery of more than an ounce-and-a-half of methamphetamine packaged for sale, resulting in the arrest of a Corbin man.

Jimmy T. Gilbert, Jr., 48, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine – greater than or equal to two grams.

Detective Robbie Hodge wrote in the arrest citation that the search warrant for the residence at 1605 Palmer Street, off of Cumberland Falls Hwy., was secured after Gilbert had sold suspected crystal methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

Officers served the search warrant at approximately 12:30 p.m. during which they recovered 57 baggies containing 51 grams (1.8 ounces) of suspected crystal methamphetamine, six digital scales, a large quantity of baggies and a surveillance system.
