Laurel deputies investigating hit-and-run in Lily

  A Lily man was airlifted from the scene on Ky. 552 Thursday after he was struck by a vehicle whose driver then fled the scene.

According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, stated that 26-year-old Willie Hubbard was walking along the roadway about 3:15 p.m. when the vehicle struck him, knocking him into a ditch deputies found debris from a broken light and other pieces from the run vehicle at the scene.

The vehicle has since been identified as black full size extended cab pickup truck.

“It should have damage to the right front of the vehicle,” Root stated.

Hubbard was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and Lily Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
