Garnett L. Johnson, age 90, of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
She was born on May 22, 1932 in Whitley County to the late Henry Vanderpool and the late Nora (Meadors) Vanderpool.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johnson; two grandchildren, Jerry and Pamela; brother, Jack Vanderpool; sisters, Doris White, Beulah White, Oda Lowe, and Etta Johnson.
She is survived by her four children, Joe Johnson and wife Patsy of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Linda McGlamery and husband Chuck of Corbin, Kentucky, LaRene Ridings and husband Robert of Corbin, Kentucky, and Janet Roaden and husband Herschel Ray of Corbin, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Patty, Valerie, Shawnda, Brandon, Kevin, Melonie, Meleea, Timothy, Chad, and Travis; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was a member of the Oak Ridge Church of God. She taught Sunday School for over 12 years at the Canadatown Church of God.
Visitation will be at 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 16, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Meadors and Rev. Luke Day officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
