A Corbin man was arrested Thursday after allegedly being found trespassing while nude in the back yard of a home.

According to an arrest citation obtained by the Whitley Circuit Court Clerk’s office, a complaint was received alleging the suspect, identified as Thomas A. Gilbert, 43, was nude in the backyard of a home on Vandorn Street in Corbin.

According to the citation, the home owner informed police that Thomas had broken into a building on the property and “messed it all up.” Thomas allegedly fled the residence after police arrived and was later located in a nearby wooded area.

Thomas was “very intoxicated” when he was located, still naked, and “talking crazy stuff,” the citation stated.

Thomas was arrested and charged with first-degree indecent exposure – third offense, public intoxication, third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and persistent felony offender. He remains jailed in the Whitley County Detention Center.

According to online jail records, Thomas was also arrested in June 2021 and charged with first-degree indecent exposure, public intoxication, two counts of third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. In February 2021, he was arrested on two separate occasions, first being charged with second-degree criminal trespassing and then with third-degree burglary.

He was first charged with first-degree indecent exposure in August 2020, when he was also charged with second-degree indecent exposure and second-degree disorderly conduct.
