Agriculture Commissioner helps thank Whitley County farmers for their work

Farming is big business in Kentucky with 76,000 farms statewide and 548 farms in Whitley County with 59,000 acres farmed here bringing in over $6 million in revenue annually.

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles was the keynote speaker during a farmer’s appreciation dinner, which was held late Saturday afternoon outside the cooperative extension office at Goldbug.
