Arrest warrant issued for suspect in Browning Acres burglary

Date:

Whitley County law enforcement asked for, and received the public’s help to make an arrest in connection with a vehicle burglary Sunday morning on Browning Acres Road.

Constable Ron “Bubba” Bowling said following the release of the information and video footage showing an individual walking up the driveway of the home where the burglary took place, multiple tips had been come in concerning the identity of the suspect.

“Footage from a home security system along with working relationships between Corbin Police and the constables office are to be given credit for positively identifying the person on interest,” Bowling said.

Based on the information, Bowling said Tuesday that he had secured an arrest warrant for the suspect and anticipated serving it later Tuesday.

“We got a tip, talked to a witness and made a positive ID within 24 hours of the video being posted on Facebook,” Bowling said adding this marks the second time within the last month that tips from Facebook have led to an arrest in an burglary investigation.

The male suspect, wearing shorts, a baseball style cap and flip flop sandals, allegedly got into the truck and took several high dollar video cameras, ammunition and hunting gear.

“It was hundreds of yards off the main road,” Bowling said of the area where the truck was parked.
