Barbara (Mattie) Vermillion, age 92, of the Black Oak Community of Williamsburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Williamsburg Health & Rehab.
She was born June 30, 1932, in Harlan, Kentucky.
Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Charles “Charlie” Vermillion; granddaughter, Jade Richardson; grandson, Dustin Richardson, father, Arthur Richard Mattie, Sr.; mother, Maude (Grant) Mattie; brothers, Gene Mattie, and Arthur Richard Mattie, Jr.; sisters, Jewell McGhee, and Joann Wormsley.
She is survived by daughters, Lujeania “Jeannie” Richardson and Mike Moore, Sharon Owens and husband Gary; grandchildren, Chad Clear and wife Sarah, Wendy Vermillion and husband Chris Harris, Summer Zecchini and husband Bobby; great-grandchildren, Hannah Mitchell and husband Jake, Lily Blankenship, Sarah Clear, Bobby Owen Zecchini and wife Savannah, Emma Clear, John Russell Zecchini, Phoebe Blankenship; great-great-grandchildren, Everleigh Williams, Whitley Lewis, and Jon Reese Lebanion; brothers, Dillard Mattie, and Hillard Mattie; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.
Funeral service was Sunday, November 24, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Dunston officiating.
Burial followed in the Vermillion-Richardson Cemetery, Black Oak, Williamsburg, Kentucky
Harp Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.
