Beginning Fall 2020, classes in business analytics and business ethics will be included as core classes for those pursuing a business degree through the Hutton School of Business at University of the Cumberlands. Students will also have two new concentration options within the degree program: finance and strategic marketing.

Systemwide, across its eight hospitals, physician offices, and other provider and outpatient locations, Baptist Health has passed the 100,000 mark in testing for COVID-19, having conducted 102,013 tests as of July 31. In Kentucky, 91,384 tests were performed, with an additional 10,629 tests in southern Indiana. June unemployment rates for Whitley and its surrounding counties in Kentucky have largely dropped back to near pre-COVID-19 levels, according to figures from the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
Unemployment rates dropped in all 120 Kentucky counties between May 2020 and June 2020 with rates in Whitley County and surrounding counties dropping by 50 percent or more in most cases.
Also, unemployment rates fell in 82 Kentucky counties between June 2019 and June 2020 – including Whitley, Laurel, Knox, Bell and McCreary counties – rose in 33 and stayed the same in five counties, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

Anthony Holland has been the man in charge at Corbin Farm and Garden, located on Master Street, for the past 38 years. In that amount of time he has seen the business grow and change, but he is now looking forward to taking things just a little easier when he retires early next month.
