Georgia Kaye (Stephens) Nevels, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Northport, Alabama after a long illness.
She was a native of McCreary County Kentucky. She held a bachelor’s degree from Cumberland College and a master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, as well as a Rank 1 in education.
She taught at many levels in the Whitley County school system before she retired.
Survivors are her daughter, Sharon Ellen Vincent of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, two grandchildren; two brothers, Scot Stephens and Mike Stephens; and three sisters, Marjorie Brackett, Kathy Bird, and Sue Douglas.

She was a 2004 graduate of Family of Faith Christian Academy and worked for many years as a mental health advisor, which was her passion.
