Priscilla Faulkner, age 96, of Corbin, KY, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 11, 1930 in Williamsburg, KY, to the late Alonzo and Oma Jane Siler. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Faulkner; one daughter, Patricia Hamblin; and one son, Carl Faulkner. Williamsburg Independent Schools students will have the chance to meet their classroom teachers during the Back to School Bash, which is scheduled for Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the school. The Corbin Police Department’s National Night Out event Thursday is designed to give the community a way to meet first responders in a more informal setting. A local boating race, which has generated more than $250,000 the last nine years to help local school and children’s programs, is returning Saturday. Registration starts at 8 a.m. for the 10th Annual Kayaking for Kids race. The race will begin at 10 a.m. The registration fee for the race is $20. Event organizer Amber Owens said as of Monday approximately 17 people had pre-registered for the race and have already filled out their entry forms. David Allen Dunn, 79, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 in Lexington, KY. He was originally from Corbin and graduated from Corbin High School. He served in the Army during Vietnam and was an American Legion member. He was employed with the USPS for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary E. Dunn and Hugh Dunn. He is survived by his sister, Mary Sweeney of Corbin; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sharon Dunn of Madisonville; nephew, Chris Sweeney of Corbin; three great-nieces and two great-great-nieces. Carol Sue McCulley, age 83, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at her home. She was born on February 6, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John Everett Jones and Nellie Pauline Jones. Carol was a devoted member of Kensee Baptist Church who loved her faith deeply and attended services whenever the doors were open.
