Charles E. Moore

Charles E. Moore, age 87, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Baptist Health Corbin. Survivors include his wife, Eulene Parkey Moore. Funeral services were held Friday, December 6, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Vandy officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery. Hart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Veronica Carr Rains

Veronica Carr Rains, age 68, of Mountain View Road, Williamsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at her home.  She was born on July 9, 1951 in Pineville, Kentucky, to the late Floyd and Thelma (Anderson) Carr. She was also preceded in death by her son, Trevor Brett Rains and mother-in-law, Gladys Dople. Veronica was a member of Main Street Baptist Church.  She taught kindergarten in the Williamsburg School District for over 36 years. Everett A. Shekleton, Jr.

Everett A. Shekleton Jr. age 73, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Boston, MA, to the late Everett A. Shekleton and Evelyn Files Shekleton.  Everett graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Chemical Engineering before completing his Master’s degree in Business from Syracuse University. He was the owner and operator of Betty’s Flowers in Corbin for over 40 years. An active member of Grace On The Hill Methodist Church, where he was the director of the Food Pantry since 2009. Mrs. Christine Rogers Hart passed away December 3, 2019, at Baptist Health, Corbin, Kentucky. Born June 1, 1922, she was the daughter of Wess and Edyth Prewitt Rogers and widow of Odis V. Hart of Corbin. They had two children, Dallas W. Hart (Linda) and Donna Hart Smith (Ralph) both of Corbin. Christine belonged to the American Rosie the Riveter Association. During World War II, she went to Indiana to work in a factory where she made airplane parts for the war effort, while her husband was in the Philippines.
