Two seasons ago, Kallie Housley and Darcie Anderson were a pair of veteran leaders on the Corbin High School girls basketball team. Helping lead the Lady Hounds to 13th Region tournament appearances their sophomore, junior and senior years, and a state tournament berth in 2022, they played a huge role in raising the bar for success within the program. 2025 13th Region Tournament: Redhounds conclude season with opening round loss to NL

The Corbin Redhounds' 2024-25 season came to a close Wednesday night after they fell to a hot-shooting North Laurel Jaguars team, 66-41, in the opening round of this year's 13th Region championship tournament. The Jags sunk 11 three-point baskets on the night, with senior Kole Jervis accounting for six of those on his own. Teammate Jordan Rawlings hit three from behind the arc, and Cooper Elza hit the other two long-range shots. Meanwhile, Corbin struggled to get into any sort of an offensive groove. The Corbin Lady Hounds opened up play in the 2025 13th Region tournament at the Arena Tuesday night. The 52nd District champion Harlan Lady Green Dragons gave them all they had, but in the end the ladies in red were able to pull out the 77-66 win. The Hounds were dominant in the early stages of Tuesday's opening round contest, jumping out to a 10-0 lead before being up 22-8 at the end of the first quarter. Hounds fall short in overtime district championship thriller

In what was an incredibly exciting 50th District tournament final Friday evening at Williamsburg High School, the South Laurel Cardinals were able to pull out a 65-64 win over Corbin in overtime. The Redhounds got out a 7-0 start, and led by ten points, 15-5, at the end of the first quarter. They managed to extend their lead out to 14 points, 29-15, by the half. Freshman Ryder Akins scored ten of the team’s 15 points in quarter one, and scored all of their 14 points in quarter two. Corbin girls fall to SL in 50th District tournament final

After a 44-27 loss to South Laurel Thursday evening at Willamsburg High School, the Corbin Lady Hounds will enter this year's 13th Region tournament as the 50th District runner-up. Thursday's loss to the Lady Cardinals in this year's district title game dropped Corbin to 18-10 on the season. They will learn this weekend who they will face in the first round of the 2025 13th Region tournament, being held next week at the Corbin Arena. Tues. Night Highlights: Corbin, SL advance to boys’ 50th District finals

For the tenth straight year, the boys' 50th District championship tournament will feature Corbin versus South Laurel in the finals. The Cardinals improved to 22-8 on the year Tuesday with a 54-18 victory over tournament host Williamsburg. In the late game, the Redhounds outlasted the Whitley County Colonels, 58-46, to improve to 19-9. Corbin and South will meet for the third time this season Friday evening at 7 p.m. In their first encounter, the Hounds came away with a 66-52 victory at home on Jan. 14. Seeding is officially set in the boys' 50th District after Tuesday night's contests. The Whitley County Colonels came to Corbin on Tuesday and defeated the host Redhounds in both boys and girls hoops action. The girls game went to the visitors by the final score of 73-57. The win improved the Whitley ladies to 15-7 overall, 2-3 in district play. They will go across town later this week to play Williamsburg in a game where they will be the heavy favorites to win. More district seeding games took place across the coverage area Friday night... A previously scheduled Whitley County versus Williamsburg boys/girls double header ended up being a boys only contest with the girls game getting rescheduled to next Friday, Feb. 7.
