In 1A track and field, Williamsburg hosted the Class 1A Region 6 meet.
Williamsburg will send 18 students to the state meet on Thursday. Those students include: Tatum Croley, Savannah Dabney, Rylie Davis, Lynsie Durham, Nick Hale, Peyton Hamilton, Zaden Housekeeper, Zyler Housekeeper, Bella Jeffries, Lane Jeffries, Eli Meadors, Chase Meddles, Landin Miller, Ethan Moses, Kaylee Rains, Makenna Stephens, Gary Tye and Abigail Workman.
Williamsburg’s girls team placed second in the region tournament.
The boys followed suit also coming in at second.
Knox Central and Lynn Camp met in the 51st District Championship game Tuesday night.
Much like the 50th District tournament, it was a rematch of last year’s game.
During that meeting, Knox Central won 16-0.
The two teams met up one other time this season.
Knox Central won that match up 17-0.
The last time Lynn Camp defeated Knox Central was in May 2003.
That trend continued as Lynn Camp lost 18-0 to Knox Central in this year’s 51st District championship game Tuesday in Pineville.

Whitley County defeated Williamsburg on the baseball diamond first round.
The Whitley County Colonels baseball team is the 2026 50th District Champions.
The Colonels defeated the Corbin Redhounds, 3-1, Tuesday night.

Whitley County’s Lady Colonels topped the Williamsburg Lady Jackets in a dominant win on the road.
The Lady Colonels’ won 17-0 in just three innings.
Freshman Jalyn McKay led the team with 3 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBIs.
Whitley County softball has won every match up between the two schools since April 2018.
Whitley County has an overall season record of 10-21 while Williamsburg’s record sits at 5-19 as of 2:30 p.m. on May 12.
Corbin’s Redhounds took down the Harlan County Black Bears on May 11 with a 6-3 win.
Corbin has won the last six matchups against the 13th region foe.
Harlan County last beat Corbin in 2017 during the 13th Region tournament.
