Charles Dan Lawson, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2024.
He was born on July 28, 1933 in Whitley County, KY to the late Opal and Everett Lawson.
Charles loved gardening, country music, bluegrass music and spending time with his family.
He was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and was a United States Army Veteran. He owned and operated Lawson Tax Service in Dayton, OH for the past 35 years.
Charles was a Freewill Baptist Pastor for 15 years in the Dayton/Fairborn area. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Lawson; his daughter, Debbie Jones and his brother, James Lawson.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Xander-Lawson; his grandchildren, Jessie Lawson, Kara Catalano, Zach Xander, Kenny Xander, Kathy Xander and Kim Xander; his great-grandchildren, Gavin Lawson, Jaden Ater, Carmine Ater, Bently Ater and Louie Catalano; his nieces, Margaret Burchell and Marietta Lawson Fitzgerald and his close friends, Donnie Dalton and Roger Moses.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with services to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home – North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
Charles will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, OH.
