Chase suspect jumps in creek twice, caught hiding in garbage can

A traffic stop involving a bicycle Sunday evening led to a foot pursuit of a suspect, who allegedly jumped into a creek twice before jumping over a fence at the Corbin Public Works Garage and being found hiding in a garbage can. The suspect was also allegedly a registered sex offender from California, who had moved to Corbin without properly registering in Kentucky as a sex offender, according to court documents and a Corbin Police Department release.
