CHS Baseball wins 13th Region, headed to Sweet 16

Going into the 2022 13^th Region baseball tournament, most fans expected to see a 50^th District championship rematch in the finals between the Corbin Redhounds and the Whitley County Colonels. All signs seemed to point to that inevitable matchup after Whitley downed Jackson in the first round and Corbin made easy work of the Knox Central Panthers, but the Colonels were stunned in the tournament semifinals, falling to Middlesboro, 7-3. Meanwhile, the Hounds blanked Clay County, 6-0, setting up an unlikely meeting between them and the Yellow Jackets for this year’s 13^th Region crown.
