Claude Blaine Benfield, 64, of Lily, KY, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Born in London, KY, Blaine was the son of Donald Lawrence and Anna Ruth Benfield, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Barbara Money (Tracey Pennington), Natasha Money (Cassie Hale), Shawn Money (Shonna); three grandchildren; siblings, Larry Benfield (Brenda), Sabrina Cobb (Rodney), twin sister Claudette Cox (Tom), and Allen Benfield (Jennifer); father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Jackie Peters; special friends, Joshua Frazier and Terra Elliott; his four-legged best friend, Nicholas, which he so lovingly referred to as “his boy”; also his grandpuppies, and other animals. There are numerous additional family members and friends that also mourn his passing.
Blaine spent nearly half his life as a loyal employee of Saint Joseph London/Marymount Hospital where he would have celebrated his 31st anniversary next month. He was an avid woodworker, reader of western novels, and loved his morning coffee; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 2:00 PM at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Paul Stepp officiating.
Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery. Joshua Frazier, Ivan Nieto, Jeff Hubbard, Chris Woods, Jimmy Peters, Tracey Pennington, Eric Stallard, and Landon Harris will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
