Corbin City Commission approves changes to Roy Kidd Avenue in 3-2 vote

The Corbin City Commission narrowly approved changes Tuesday evening to the traffic pattern along Roy Kidd Avenue that will see two small portions of the roadway be turned into one-way roads and create additional street parking.

In a 3-2 vote, the commission approved a proposal from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) to help decrease vehicle accidents within the City of Corbin by eliminating traffic crossing Main Street where it meets Roy Kidd Avenue. The proposal was presented to the commission during a January special-called meeting after the intersection was identified by the KYTC as a possible area of concern.
