Corbin fatal accident still under investigation

Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred late Sunday evening on I-75 near Corbin.

Not much is known about the crash, which happened near the 26 mile marker in the northbound lane about 11 p.m., according to a Corbin Police Department release.

Two people were injured and sustained serious injuries. Both were transported from the scene. One person, who was a juvenile, later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision.

Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London was contacted for assistance in an accident reconstruction.

Corbin Fire Department, Whitley County EMS, Oak Grove and Woodbine volunteer fire departments, Whitley County Emergency Management, PHI Air Medical, Air Evac Life Team, the Kentucky Highway Department and other agencies assisted on the scene.
