The City of Corbin has a new recreation director and new main street director.
At the regular called monthly meeting Monday night, the City Commission voted unanimously to hire Hope Gibson to head the recreation department and Aaron Sturgill to head Corbin Downtown.
Gibson and Sturgill will begin work on Sept. 4.
The main street director position became vacant when Andy Salmons tendered his resignation on May 1.
City Manager Marlon Sams, who was had previously served as recreation director, was named city manager in May 2012, but has continued to perform the duties of both positions.
