Corbin man crashes vehicle into car lot Friday

Date:

An elderly Corbin man, Pete Lee,  had to be flown out by emergency medical helicopter Friday afternoon after he crashed his vehicle on a car lot near Three-Point.

The accident happened about 3 p.m., and involved an 84-year-old man, whose Buick apparently struck various vehicles in Williamsburg before reaching US25W, and then going over an embankment near Rains Auto Sales.

The car struck two parked vehicles on the lot including, one a 1950s model and a 1970s model. The impact knocked all three vehicles down a nearly 10-foot embankment where they came to rest.

Police think Lee apparently suffered some type of medical problem, which led to the crash. No drug or alcohol involvement is suspected.

He was the only person injured. Whitley County EMS treated him at the scene. Williamsburg Fire Department set up an emergency-landing zone near the Whitley County High School soccer complex where an Air Evac Life Team helicopter landed.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.

Three-Point Volunteer Fire Department and Williamsburg police also assisted at the scene.
