Corbin man, Girdler woman indicted for felony drug trafficking by Knox County Grand Jury

The Knox County Grand Jury has indicted a Corbin man and a Girdler woman for felony drug trafficking in separate cases.

On Jan. 23, the Knox County Grand Jury indicted Douglas T. Warfield, 47, of Corbin, on two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine on June 12, 2024, and on July 16, 2024), and first-degree persistent felony offender, according to his indictment.

He has a prior felony conviction in a 2015 Whitley County case for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, and in a 2022 Knox County case for second-offense, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

The Knox County Grand Jury also indicted Brandi Nicole Beach, also known as Brandi Smith, 40, of Girdler, charging her with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine on Jan. 7, 2026) and first-degree persistent felony offender, according to her indictment.

She has a prior felony conviction in a 2017 Knox County case for false statement misrepresent to receive benefits over $100, and in a 2022 Bell County case for first-degree possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

According to court records, the Knox County Grand Jury handed down seven other felony indictments on Jan. 23, including:

• Vanessa Nicole Vaughn, 37, of Corbin – first-degree bail jumping.

• Joseph Z. Boswell, 19, of Gray – theft value at least $1,000 but less than $10,000 (2013 EZ Go four-seater golf cart).

• Rebecca Jo Hamblin, 55, of Scalf – second-degree forgery (unlawfully signing someone else’s name on a notarized title vehicle transfer), theft value at least $1,000 but less than $10,000 (2010 Lincoln Navigator), and theft by deception value at least $1,000 but less than $10,000 (taking $2,000 from someone in return for a stolen 2010 Lincoln Navigator).

• Shanna Ann Williams, also known as Shanna Owens, 40, of London – flagrant non-support (three children).

• John David Marchese, 47, of Girdler – flagrant non-support (three children).

• Lawrence Edgar Dhonau III, 53, of Somerset – flagrant non-support (two children).

• Andrea M. Griffin Bays, 40, of London – flagrant non-support (three children).

The Knox County Grand Jury also returned a misdemeanor indictment against Stacy Jean Rice, 40, of Scalf, on a charge of second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.
