Corbin Schools the recipient of KEMI’s Destiny Award for the sixth consecutive year

Date:

The Corbin Independent School District was awarded the Destiny Award for the sixth consecutive year, continuing a streak that highlights the district’s commitment to safety.

The Destiny Award, presented by the Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI), is an award that recognizes districts across the state that demonstrate excellence in workplace safety practices, employee training, and overall efforts to reduce risks and injuries.

“We’re very proud to have received this award for the sixth consecutive year,” said Chris Webb, Director of Safety for Corbin Independent Schools. “It reflects our district’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe and supportive learning environments for all students and staff.”

According to Webb, only one other school district in the state has ever won the Destiny Award for six years and that school district was not a recipient of the award this year.

“I’m hoping next year we’ll be able to keep the momentum and get this award seven years in a row,” said Webb.

Corbin Independent Schools receives informational feedback from KEMI, which Webb says helps guide future safety planning throughout the district.

“This consistent recognition highlights the hard work of our staff across the schools and the district’s dedication to ensuring safety remains a top priority,” said Webb.
