Dump truck crash demolishes utility pole

Date:

Some Eastern Whitley County residents lost power and landline phone service Saturday evening after a dump truck wrecked cutting a utility pole in two.

Around 7:15 p.m., a dump truck, which was hauling dirt, wrecked near the intersection of Highway 92E and Highway 904, and came to rest on its side. The accident caused damage to a utility pole.

No one was injured during the accident but Patterson Creek Volunteer Fire Department had to detour traffic onto Highway 904 due to electrical wires in the roadway.

Members of the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash.
