Fourth Annual WYMT Fishing Expo ends one day early

Date:

The Fourth Annual WYMT Fishing Expo presented by Pittsburgh Marine was cut short due to winter weather.

The normally three-day event was shortened to two days because of inclement weather which moved into the area Sunday.

As of Saturday morning, event coordinator Lonnie Marcum said, “It has been going great.”

The event featured approximately 35 vendors that had “anything and everything to do with fishing,” said Marcum.

Boats, pontoons, canoes, kayaks, lures, rods and reels were just some of the more abundant merchandise available at the event.

For children, Charlie Evans was in attendance with his Paw Patrol boat and friends.

“It is just a great family fun event,” said Marcum.

Most of the vendors were local, but some were in attendance from Lexington, Virginia, Stearns, Albany, Morehead and more.

Marcum said Friday night saw approximately 500 in attendance, and the expected turnout for Saturday was approximately 3,000.
