frances-cox-pictureFrances Cox, 84, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday September 15, 2016 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabil-itation Center in Williamsburg.

She was born March 24, 1932 in Whitley County, to the late Clyde Alsip and the late Elizabeth Smith Alsip.

Frances was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Williamsburg.

She also retired from American Greeting of Corbin.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband R.B. Cox, a sister Lora Alsip Cox, two brothers, Dan Alsip and Glen Alsip.

She is survived by a daughter Patty Powers and husband Rev. Fred Powers of Williamsburg; grandson, Rob Powers and wife Tammy of Williamsburg; two great grandsons, Dawson Powers, Mason Powers; sister Mayme Alsip Bryant of Williamsburg, KY; brother Jimmy Alsip of Williamsburg; special niece Carrie Courtney (Al) of Orange City, FL, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 18, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Rob Powers and Rev. James Hodge officiating.

Following the service she was laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Williamsburg.
