Regular season district play wrapped up Friday, with two coverage area teams picking up wins…

The Corbin Redhounds had no trouble against the visiting Perry County Central Commodores, winning 55-0 to finish out the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record. The Hounds will be on bye next week ahead of their first round contest in this year’s Class 4A playoffs.

The Whitley County Colonels also hosted a district game Friday, falling 35-31 to the Letcher County Central Cougars. With the loss, Whitley is 5-4 overall on the season. They will host Madison Southern next week in their regular season finale.

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets went on the road Friday and secured a 28-14 victory over the Harlan Green Dragons, improving to 5-3 on the season. The Jackets will travel again next week, finishing out their regular season schedule with a game at Perry County Central in Hazard.

And finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats were not able to overcome the visiting Pineville Mountain Lions Friday evening, falling by the final score of 29-23. The 2-7 Wildcats will host McCreary Central next week, when they will hope to close out 2023 on a high note.
